Skye Ume is a former Captain of Maelstrom's finest, spending most of her career fighting against the Garlean's bloody invasion of Eorzea. Now, in a time where peace reigns once more, she has found herself as an adventurer and a mercenary, picking up all sorts of odd jobs and taking contracts from Grand Companies and whoever is willing to dish out the nicest-looking amount of gil. She dons herself in many of her modifications and creations, preferring to remain self-reliant rather than buying a useless piece of junk that will break on her when she needs it most. That is what makes her reliable and just the person you want watching over you in a skirmish, tending to be a deadshot and the type who can handle herself in a battle, though some of her ploys could be considered more reckless.When not focused on her work, she will find time to explore Etheirys's vast contents, studying different cultures, exploring paths long since forgotten, and stopping at every pub and tavern along the way for a quick drink or five. Besides exploring or drinking you under the table, she has a great interest in working on all manner of contraptions, equipment, and whatever ideas may pop into her very chaotic brain. Most of her past is shrouded in a veil of mystery, and that is just the way she prefers it, though she lacks any tribal markings, and something about her feels off. She will typically wear either a warm smile or a smug grin. But why concern yourself with matters that many, including Skye, would rather leave well enough alone, instead pull up a seat, pop those boots up on the table, and grab a tankard. Who knows, you might just make a friend out of The Crimson Cat.

I'm not gonna bore you with the same stuff you've seen on every profile, like IC vs OOC. Instead this is a list of my very simple requirements.1. Lightless is not required but highly encouraged. I worked really hard on making my character in the way I enjoy them and envision them, and I want everyone else to experience that too.2. IRL will always come first. If you have to go, no one is gonna be upset; just let me know.3. I hold the stance that a good/creative story will always be better than being lore strict. So long as we stick to the primary setting being in Final Fantasy 14, then do as you please, I certainly will.4. I am transfem IRL. Often traveling the lands in search of new secrets to uncover, sights to see, and people to meet. She will gladly adventure with you, given the chance.♦ (Common) The Gun for Hire: Gil speaks many languages, and Skye is not one to turn away from work. As long as she isn't asked to kill anyone innocent, she will likely take up any job thrown her way. Services are subject to review depending on the job.♦ (Common) The Drinking Buddy: One of the many leisurely activities for Skye, after all, who doesn't like washing away the stress of the day with some rum and a few ales? Perhaps a certain red-haired Miqo'te bearing the rank of Lieutenant or Sergeant collected your gil in a game of cards or shared a meal in the trenches.♣ (Uncommon) The Technician : Most of the equipment she carries with her was modified or created by her; she can often be seen with glowing pieces of strange arcane technology or a magitek piece or three. If you ask her to fix something, you can bet she will find a way to get it up and running.♣ (Uncommon) The Guardian: Morals are flexible. While Skye prides herself on towing the line between good and bad, a grey section, there are just some things she cannot ignore. Those involved in the slave trade are likely to end up in her crosshairs. The same goes for those who exploit the weak or unfortunate, those who cannot defend themselves. Some say it has something to do with her upbringing, but those are just rumors.♥ (Rare) The Investigator: She is known for showing up at the wrong place at the wrong time. Perhaps it is just luck, or maybe it's exactly how she planned it. Typically, when she does show up, it is for a reason, whether it's someone obtaining a magical artifact they know nothing about, or she was hired to look more closely into something.♥ (Rare) The Magician : Typically one to enter combat with her trusty guns, she prefers to keep a range from enemies, as that is what has kept her alive all this time. But if someone or something pisses her off enough, they will be greeted with sword with flaming runes on it and most likely a ball of fire to the face. Push her even further and who knows what might happen next.♠ (???) The Secret : We all have skeletons in our closet, I won't tell if you won't.
